Hi L-san, if you want to create your bot (IVR or some sort of system) with public phone using Microsoft technologies (except for twilio or 3rd party api), “trusted application api” in Skype for Business might be the appropriate option. (As you know, skype for business can connect with PSTN when you’re in Microsoft platforms.)
Sorry but now this api is developer preview for a long time (the updates of app dev platforms in skype for business seems to be postponed because of teams integration and please stay tuned for the future updates …) and the available features are so limited now.

Thanks for this blog, it was really useful and explained a lot! You mention that Skype is the only channel that can work with this Calling Bot template. So it is not possible to connect this bot to a phone in any way?

I’m struggling quite hard to get it work on a C# project. I tried to send it to Bing Speech API but I never get a response back. I am not sure what’s going on. It lags too much.
